FOR SATELLITE TV VIEWERS

Satellite viewers will not have to do much for the digital television transition, so just sit back and keep enjoying your TV!

Most national satellite companies are handling the conversion on their end, so as long as your television has a satellite signal coming to it, you will continue to receive your Tampa-area television channels.

In the event that your satellite feed ever goes out, however, you might want to have a digital converter box around as a back-up.  This is especially true during storms -- if you still have power, you can use the converter box to pull in digital signals from the air.

And even if you have satellite in your living room, don't forget about that old TV in the back bedroom or the garage that still pulls in analog signals off the air.  Remember to get a converter box for those TVs, too.

You can find digital converter boxes at most consumer electronics stores; they usually cost between $50 and $60.  But the government is offering $40-off coupons to make them more affordable.
