Baseball has been a spring staple in St. Petersburg since 1914. But that era came to an end with the Rays' last spring game at Al Lang Field.
The Rays are moving their spring training site to Charlotte County in 2009, but before that, they closed out the 2008 spring session with this game against the Reds.
